Troubleshooting

Why is my water foaming?

This usually happens because of a build-up of non-organic products like cosmetics, deodorant, and detergents on clothing. To rectify this issue, you can use an anti-foam product which can be used as a short-term fix, or you can use a non-chlorine shock treatment. Lastly you can empty and thoroughly clean the spa before refilling.

To avoid this happening in the future, make sure anybody using the PureSpa™ showers before getting in the spa, also do not use detergent on garments that will be worn in the spa.

Why is my water cloudy?

Cloudy water can be caused by chlorine, pH or alkalinity levels not being correct so check these using your chemical kit strips. Also check the filters to make sure that they are clean and change if necessary. To rectify the issue, you can use a non-chlorine shock treatment or if this fails empty and clean the spa thoroughly before refilling.

What does the E81 code mean?

This error code shows a transmission signal failure and can be caused by using the RCD as an on/off switch. Follow the following steps to rectify the issue:

1. Turn t control base off via the socket (do not use the RCD)
2. Next hold the power button down until the screen goes blank
3. Now turn the control base on from the plug socket, press the re-set button on the RCD and press the power button to switch the screen on
4. The E81 code should now have cleared
5. If you still have an issue, please contact us

What does the E90 Code mean?

The E90 code is for no water flow, this can be causes by blockages within the unit. To check please turn off and unplug the control unit and make sure the outlet grid is clean and free from obstructions, also look in the inlet/outlet hoses making sure these are not blocked, if this doesn’t resolve the E90 please see the next steps.

Switch the control unit back on, unscrew the cartridge housing from the inside of the tub and remove this. Once removed turn the unit on to filter and leave for an hour or two, if the E90 code doesn’t occur then the issue is with the filter cartridge. If the E90 code does occur within this time, then please contact us.

How do I stop my Spa tub losing air pressure?

This can be caused by the air valve cap being loose:

1. Make sure the spa tub is deflated, open the air valve cap and insert the wrench into the valve body.
2. With one hand, hold the back of the air valve base from the inside of the spa tub wall and turn the wrench clockwise.

IMPORTANT: Never adjust the air valve base when the spa is in use or filled with water. Only use the air valve wrench if the air valve is loose or there is air leaking from around the valve base. Do not over tighten the air valve as this can damage the valve.

Another cause could be a hole in the spa. To check this, pour a weak soapy solution over the tub to see where bubbles form. Once you have found the leak, clean and dry the area, then use either the self-adhesive patch included in the PureSpa™ or fabric repair patches which are available to match the tub and bladder, these can be used in conjunction with a PVC or silicone-based glue. Test the glue on a small part of the patch before applying to the tub or bladder.

Why is my Spa noisy in filtration mode?

This can be a vibration caused by control base components not be securely attached or the control base has been placed on ground that is not level. If neither of these apply, then it could be the ceramic bar or impellor breaking within the filter motor, once detected these components will need to be replaced. If this is the case, then please contact us.

Why is my Spa tub is a strange shape?

The tub can expand due to an increase in internal air pressure caused by strong sunshine and high temperatures. Should this happen, the tub will need to be replaced. To avoid this issue, if possible, try not to position the PureSpa™ in an area where it will be exposed to strong sunlight for extended periods of time or during very hot weather release some air from the tub to avoid possible damage.

Why is there no display? / Why doesn’t my control unit work?

Check to make sure the PureSpa™ is plugged in, also make sure the control panel cable plug is firmly attached. Check the RCD to see if it has tripped and re-set if necessary, should the RCD not reset then please contact us.
